King of Pancrase Josh Barnett will be returning to Pancrase and entering the G-MMA rankings.

He can't come of a loss and be #1 IMO.

Well that would mean Kharitonov couldn't be number one and Kharitonov's last loss? Josh Barnett.

^Exactly what I was thinking. Barnett beat Kharitonov last year and after that fight Kharitonov beat Delgado and Barnett lost to top fighter Cormier.
Barnett should be #1 imo.

Yeah, that does make sense but Sergei rose up to number 1 and he has a recent loss to Barnett where he was finished. Too bad they say he is sticking with SF for now

agreed. Hopefully they are saying he is not coming to Pancrase because he is waiting until January to fulfill his SF contract and then leave when the promotion goes down.

cd after watching wsof tonight ill say this....
arlovski should be ranked higher than guram, monson and abdul..
rumble johnson imo should be along with king mo the top 2 guys...
moraes may replace torres after beating him tonight..
tyson steele at least should be under consideration for the top 10....
but arlovski and rumble for sure have to be higher for next month, imo even if they dont have titles they should be near the top and they have faced tougher competition than a few of those guys...
cd thats just my opinion, keep doing your good job with the rankings..

Arlovski should definitely be in the top ten. I think behind Volkov is a smart placement since he holds a victory over Rogers.
I'm kind of iffy on Rumble being number two, I wouldn't be opposed to three though. Vegh has still combined a better record at LHW as of right now, but Rumble has beat two guys that have competed at HW and a solid MW.
Agree with Moraes and Steele, as I believe Steele is better than fighters like Maruyama and Monteiro.
Other observations:
Kikuno should either drop out or Kishimoto should be in consideration with his draw, although I don't believe Kishimoto is superior to ISAO.
A combined Flyweight/Strawweight ranking would be nice as of now, I could see it going like this:
1. Mamoru Yamaguchi
2. Mikihito Yamagami
3. BJ Kojima
4. Haruo Ochi
5. Kiyotaka Shimizu
6. Junji Ito
7. Mitsuhisa Sunabe
8. Rambaa Somdet
9. Yuki Shojo
10. Yuki Yasunaga
Roy Docyogen, Allamurad Karayev, Kentaro Watanabe, Nam Jin Jo, Alexander Pantoja, Dustin Ortiz, Fumihiro Kitahara, Ali Bagautinov, Kris Edwards, Sergio Pettis, Giorgio Andrews

Willie and wekka, these are great comments and I get where you're coming from. However, rankings
are primarily based on defeating fighters ranked above a fighter to move
up although in certain cases a fighter can move up by defeating a
fighter below them in impressive fashion. So I added two new rules this month. I was considering adding these several weeks ago just after I posted the rankings last month.
I
think this will help maintain the integrity of the rankings.
The two new ranking rules state:
* A fighter can move up a maximum of two spots with impressive victories over fighters ranked under them.
* A fighter must defeat a top three ranked fighter in order to enter the top three.
We can continue the discussion in the new rankings thread:
